Dipl. Ing. Architect
Moritz has been a Chartered Architect in both the UK and Germany since 1999, and is one of the three founding Directors of m2r-architecture. Having initially trained as a construction worker he studied architecture at the universities of Liverpool, Seattle and Dresden.
After completing his studies Moritz worked as an architect in Berlin designing several housing projects. In 1997 he joined Becker, Gehwers Kühn & Kühn Architects and became Project Architect on the Ostbahnhof, one of Berlin’s main Railway Stations. In 1999 he moved back to the UK and was working for Nicholas Grimshaw Architects, as a Project Architect responsible for the design and construction of the £100 million Trade Fair Hall 3 in Frankfurt.
m2r was incorporated in 2002 to enable the three founding Directors to pool their individual expertise and creative flair, and collaborate closely on future innovative projects of common interest. This harmonious relationship has resulted in numerous submissions to international design competitions and projects, based upon the collective input of the three leading principals and their support team.
Amongst the projects for which Moritz is currently carrying out the leading role are the implementation of 5-star hotels in Kharkov (Ukraine) and Karpathos (Greece). He is also responsible for a master plan development in Baku (Azerbaijan).
