Abu Dhabi is the Capital of the UAE, and the largest of the seven Emirates, constituting over 85% of the nation’s total land area.
Abu Dhabi possesses 10% of the world’s oil 5% of its gas reserves, and produces 90% of oil in the U.A.E. The generated income has been purposely invested to create a first class infrastructure and flourishing modern metropolis.
The commercial building on Al Faleh Street is a real estate investment of the Royal Family. The site consists of two sites – each 80 ft by 50 ft.
The client requested a building that consists of basement, a ground floor and mezzanine, plus 15 additional floors. Ground floor and mezzanine will be used as a showroom for luxury cars. The 15 remaining floors will be rented as A-class office space. The net to gross ratio is 76%.
The shape of the building relates to a butterfly. By creating a strong visual gesture, the building manifests itself proudly in its neighbourhood.
The design emphasizes on a sustainable and carbon neutral building – by using solar energy and modern façade technologies.
